Wikileaks reveals 500.000 text pagers from 9/11 0
The controversial site wikileaks has released 500.000 text pager intercepts covering a 24 hour period surrounding the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York and Washington.
The messages were broadcasted “live” to the global community — synchronized to the time of day they were sent. The first message was from 3AM September 11, 2001, five hours before the first attack, and the last, 24 hours later.
Text pagers or beepers are usually carried by persons operating in an official activity. Messages in the archive range from Pentagon, FBI, FEMA and New York Police Department exchanges, to computers reporting faults at investment banks inside the World Trade Center.
According to them, the archive is a completely objective even do they haven’t revealed how the website got this private information.
Most the messages are non relevant information like calendar updates but some of them quite shocking; you can get access to these messages via their Twitter site. Messages can also be read in their special Wikileaks site.
