Twitter could be profitable this year 0
According to a very close source to the microblogging company, Twitter will get 25 millions dollars due to their search agreements with Google and Microsoft. These revenues would be enough for Twitter to break even before end of this year according to the same source.
The deal established with Google gives Twitter around 15 Millions dollars, meanwhile Bing´s partnership generates another 10 Millions. Even do the terms and conditions of both agreements remains confidential, these numbers were revealed by the same source.
In other hand, Bloomberg estimates that Twitter’s yearly operational costs, including their 105 employees, are between 20 to 25 millions dollars. Therefore the company could be profitable at the end of 2009.
Twitter’s CEO, Evan Williams, highlighted two months back that Twitter is putting most of their efforts on improving their service and increasing their customer base. Monetization strategy was not in the top priority list.
Once asked about Company financial situation, Biz Stone-Twitter’s co-founder- just mentioned that they are very satisfied with both joint ventures established during 2009 and they will continue opening Twitter in the future.
