Apple to sell 36 Million Iphones in 2010 0

According to Piper Jaffray analyst Gener Munster, Apple could sell up to 36 Million Iphones globally in 2010. This implies a 40% increase from 2009, where Apple sold 25 million Iphones.

His research indicates that 16 Million Iphones will be sold in the US, meanwhile Europe will sell roughly 16.7 Million. Asia will contribute with 5.5 Million and South America with only 2.3 Million.

According to the research firm, this numbers could be a little bit conservative, mainly because it doesn’t consider the growing rumors of Verizon start carrying the device in 2010. Verizon’s move could generate a significant upside for Iphone 2010 forecast. In my perspective we are talking about 5-8 Million additional devices in the US. Nevertheless, this will depend if Apple accepts to support a CDMA compatible Iphone to Verizon Network.
